Inter-cell welding (ICW) is the process of fusing the lead straps to connect the batteries’ cells. Most lead-acid batteries are welded through the partition (TTP). Getting inter-cell welding right is the key to healthy batteries and low rejection rates.
With more than three decades of experience and dozens of registered patents, Battery Technology Source is universally recognized as the leading inter-cell welding expert. Our welding machines smartly adapt to the condition of the straps after the COS, providing excellent results regardless of their temperature and hardness. We use an exclusive distance control formula to achieve uniform, regular and precisely centered squeeze impressions.
Over the years, we have pioneered the adoption of many new technologies, like our signature servo-controlled ICW for motorcycle and other small batteries. Each of these breakthroughs solved long-term quality issues that still plague other manufacturers, allowing our customers to step up their game and giving them an edge over their competitors.
While all our inter-cell welding machines share this common BTS DNA of high quality, cutting-edge technology, precision and ease of use, we are also aware that every battery maker has different needs. Like most of our equipment, our inter-cell welding machines are tailor-made, in close cooperation with our customers.
